A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Been twice - the spot for Pho in Chuck! This place is catching on, was told they had lines out the door even on holidays. First time had spring rolls and Chicken Pho. Solid, but I’d personally skip the chicken pho and get the beef options - far more flavorful! Second Time- I got the V4 with flank and brisket. It was delicious and more filling than the precious bowl of chicken pho. My wife got the V14 - Duck and egg noodles. This is $27 but what a decadent dish! It’s savory, has pork dumplings and about half the whole crispy duck! Huge, hearty pieces. Given the amount of duck, id say the price is worth it. The Owner even came over to chat and she visited many tables to chat with many frequent regulars. Note: very small and constantly busy. It’s hard to get a seat! May have to wait or settle for bar or counter seating by the door. Hard to fault them on this when they are so successful its constantly full! Will definitely return and order other noodle and curry items on the menu to perhaps upgrade to my very rarely given 5 stars."
"The Com Dac Biet was delicious!! Highly recommended! I also ordered the Pho to go a few days earlier and it is the best pho on this side of town. I know because I have ate pho at every single Vietnamese restaurant in Charleston. Picture below is the COM DAC BIET!"
"This place is our new favorite spot! The pho and drunken noodles were fantastic, best I've had in a long time. The place is very small, so it can be hard to get a table. But the service was great and fast! We will definitely be back!"
"Been wanting to try this place out for weeks and finally had a chance today. Highly recommended! Good lunch portions. We ordered Pad Thai, Pho (V4), Fried Rice, Green Curry and Papaya Salad. All the food was great and quite authentic. Pho was as close to what we tasted in Vietnam with flavorful and soft meats. Pad Thai had a good amount of sauce, the kids gobbled up their fried rice. Papaya salad had a good amount of tanginess. Chefs in the kitchen really know their stuff! Even their takeout containers deserve a mention as they are quite innovative. Will be visiting again!"
"A bit over priced, $20 for a Pho: The food here is excellent and the staff is genuinely friendly. The young man who served us was polite and attentive, and the owner came by to check in, which made the experience feel personal. Even when I missed a call, they returned it right away, which shows real professionalism. I’ve eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants, especially in Madison Heights, Michigan, where there are more than eight to ten places to choose from. I’ve also tried several restaurants here in Charleston. The flavor here is very good, but I have to point out that the pricing feels high. Twenty dollars for a pho is more than what I’ve paid at other Vietnamese spots, even in areas with a lot of competition. The food and service are strong enough that I still give it five stars, but I do think the pricing could be a bit more reasonable. Overall, it’s a great place with kind people and a warm atmosphere."
"Must try the pho and the rice pudding w mango! Excellent food, friendly staff and quick attentive service. The owner Tee is a wonderful human and runs a tight ship! Just be aware the place is small but was not crowded when i was there for lunch. They do have free wifi. All in all i had a lovely experience. Highly recommend!"
"Had the bun bo hue and the duck soup. Flavors were on point! Both bowls came with a very generous amount of toppings so it can justify the pricing. There is a Thai chef that specializes in the Thai dishes. The Vietnamese chef was the old owner from Lanna Thai (which was amazing when she used to own it). Also - get the Viet coffee! You can tell they care about the quality! I can’t wait to come back to try the other dishes and desserts. There are also lunch specials M-F!"
"If you like Vietnamese and Thai food this is the place to go. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and you can see that the kitchen is too. I have never had so much tender beef in my pho. The staff are the nicest people, making you feel welcome. They have recently received the license so sake, beer and wine are coming soon. I noticed 3 picnic tables that had recently been delivered making me thing they are adding an outdoor space. I should have inquired. I will definitely return on my next trip to Charleston."
